The view of the meeting

On the Chinese side, there were Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Baise city Zhou Yuhong; Chief Secretary, Chairman of the Office of the City Party Committee; Chief Secretary, Chief of the Office of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Baise City; Head of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities - Overseas Chinese - Foreign Affairs - Religion of the Baise city People's Congress; Deputy Chief of the Foreign Affairs Office, in charge of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Baise city Party Committee.

In an atmosphere of friendship, frankness and openness, the two sides briefly introduced their units’ functions and work implementation. Both sides’ economic development, border gate construction, border trade, traffic connection, culture - tourism, education, health care, environmental protection, etc were discussed. The two sides also exchanged ideas on further elevating the level of cooperation and reached many important common understandings.

In his remark, Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Cao Bang province Nong Thanh Tung emphasized that the exchange and cooperation between Cao Bang province and Baise city in all fields has been continuously consolidated, developed and achieved many remarkable results. He also expressed his belief that the establishment of a friendly exchange and cooperation mechanism between the People's Council of Cao Bang province and the Standing Board of the People's Congress of Baise city would contribute to improving understanding and promoting comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces/cities in the time ahead. For the successful and effective implementation of the exchange and cooperation mechanism between the People's Council of Cao Bang province and the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Baise city, Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Cao Bang province Nong Thanh Tung suggested that in the coming time, the two sides will work together to implement the following contents:

Maintaining regular meetings once a year. The form and time of the meeting shall be agreed upon by the two Sides and reported to their superiors. The meetings are alternately organized by the two sides to exchange and discuss important cooperation items in key fields between the two provinces/cities.

Regularly sharing experiences on enhancing the role and position of the People's Council/Standing Committee of the People's Congress in economic, cultural, social development and social management of the locality.

Jointly supervising and promoting all levels and sectors of the two sides to effectively implement the signed agreements and minutes; concretizing the common perceptions that the senior leaders of the two provinces have achieved in recent years including friendly exchanges, economic, trade and tourism cooperation, traffic connection, development of border gates and border crossings, border management, disease prevention, promoting judicial cooperation and consular - citizen protection, strengthening cultural and educational cooperation.

Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Baise city People's Congress Zhou Yuhong agreed with the cooperation proposals of Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Cao Bang province Nong Thanh Tung. He said that Cao Bang and Baise share one strip of mountains and rivers and have a long history of people-to-people exchanges. In 2022, Vietnam and China issued a joint statement on continuing to promote and deepen the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, which clearly indicates the direction of exchange and cooperation for the bordering provinces/cities of the two countries. He emphasized that it is necessary to further promote the tradition of friendship, the advantages of industries to complement each other, and strengthen practical cooperation in all fields to bring more benefits to the people. He also affirmed that the first official meeting between the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Baise city and the People's Council of Cao Bang province was a creative discovery in foreign exchange and of great significance for the development of the two localities.

The two Sides sign the Friendship Exchange Agreement

At the end of the meeting, the two Sides signed a Friendship exchange Agreement between the People's Council of Cao Bang province, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Baise city, China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Earlier, Secretary of the Baise city Party Committee Huang Rusheng met with Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Cao Bang province Nong Thanh Tung and members of the Delegation. She expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and affirmed that the visit of the Cao Bang delegation would make an important contribution to expanding cooperation fields and deepening the cooperation relationship between the two provinces/cities. Vice Chairman of the People’s Council of Cao Bang province Nong Thanh Tung expressed his thanks for the invitation and thoughtful arrangement of Baise city for Cao Bang delegation. He also hoped that the visit would further promote the relation and push two Sides’ cooperation fields to new heights.
