Cao Bang attends Forum on Lancang-Mekong Local Government Cooperation

From October 29 - 31, Cao Bang's delegation led by Mr. Be Thanh Tinh, Head of Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam - China Friendship Association of the province, attended the Forum on Lancang-Mekong Local Government Cooperation held in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province (China)

The forum was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and organized by the People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of Zhejiang Province. The forum was attended by representatives of local governments, units, and people's organizations from many different provinces and cities of the six countries in the Mekong-Lancang River basin.

In his speech at the opening session, Mr. Sun Xueqing, Secretary General of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said that the six Mekong-Lancang countries which are friendly neighbors are all developing countries. "Since the establishment of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation mechanism, the member countries have exchanged in many fields and gained a number of achievements, which has written a new chapter for the friendship between the peoples of the member countries. Accordingly, Zhejiang Province has established friendly relations with 12 localities of the five Mekong countries, creating a solid foundation for mutual understanding. More than 30 universities in Zhejiang have also cooperated with universities in the Mekong region with more than 1,600 international students. This contributes to promoting the modernization and internationalization of education", noted the Secretary General of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Sun Xueqing.
At the event, the Delegation of Cao Bang province attended the opening session, discussion sessions and other sideline activities, and participated in field trips to some Chinese high-tech enterprises in Zhejiang Province.

The forum was not only an opportunity for delegates from countries to introduce the regional situation, share experiences, and propose ideas, but also to promote exchanges, strengthen "people-to-people connections", tighten friendship, and enhance trust and cooperation among the six countries in the Mekong-Lancang region.
