Speaking at the talks, Mayor of the People's Government of Baise city Ge Guoke proposed that  Cao Bang and Baise jointly promote cooperation in building industries in border areas, connect on infrastructure planning, and increase exchanges and coordination towards building a cross-border economic cooperation zone. Both sides need to pay attention to preferential policies to attract investment to Tra Linh International Border Gate, improve customs clearance quality, research to pilot the construction of a smart border gate at Tra Linh (Vietnam) - Longbang (China) border gate, and construct the border infrustructure to promote the opening of bilateral border gate of Po Peo (Vietnam) - Yuexu (China), he added. Currently, Baise city has a number of businesses investing and producing new energy equipment (wind power, solar energy...), so he hoped that the two sides would cooperate in this field to build a new energy supply chain.

He also expressed his hope that the Baise - Cao Bang passenger transport route would soon be restored, the two sides' people-to-people exchanges would be enhanced, tourism cooperation would be expanded to enrich cultural and sports exchange activities on both sides of the border. As Baise and Cao Bang are two localities with good conditions for agricultural and forestry development, he hopes the two sides will further strengthen cooperation in this field. The two sides continue to well implement the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in protecting Cao Vit gibbons and cross-border gibbon habitat.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh said that in 2023 the relationship between the Parties and States of Vietnam and China continued to be strengthened. To inherit and promote the traditional friendship of "Vietnam-China close bonds as both comrades and brothers" and continue to deepen and further elevate the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, the two sides agree to build a Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future having strategic significance and exert efforts for the happiness of the two peoples and for the cause of peace and progress of mankind.

According to the above orientations, Cao Bang and Guangxi effectively implemented the important common perceptions reached by the leaders of the two Parties and States, opening up many new prospects in the friendly cooperative relationship between the two sides. Practical cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, traffic connection, cultural exchange, and border management has seen many new outcomes.

The Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee basically agreed with the proposals of the head of Baise city and expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to increase visits and exchanges at all levels, especially between the border districts of the two sides. He proposed that the two sides continue to promote cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture and society. In particular, the two sides research, work together and build a red tourist route from Pac Bo (Cao Bang, Vietnam) to Baise (Guangxi, China) and vice versa; cooperate in the tourist route "Canoe cruise on the river" through the border marker 589 Thieng Qua (Bao Lac, Cao Bang, Vietnam) to Khe Ho Nhay (Na Po, Baise city, China). The Chairman also suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in research on heritage protection; in education, dissemination of scientific knowledge, research and application of geoscience achievements. This creates the premise for the signing of a cooperation agreement between Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark (Vietnam) and Leye - Fengshan UNESCO Global Geopark (China).

"Regarding the field of agriculture, Cao Bang hopes to have the opportunity to receive technology transfer and apply smart technology and high technology in growing fruit trees; and calls for and promotes investment in potential and valuable agricultural products of Cao Bang", he said.

Sharing an over-333-kilometer borderline with China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region with many pairs of border gates and border crossings, Cao Bang becomes an important transit and logistics service center on the goods trade corridor from Guangxi and the southwest provinces of China to the sea and to ASEAN countries. The Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee affirmed that it is necessary to strengthen traffic connection, build border gate infrastructure, and open and upgrade border gates on both sides.

The Chairman proposed that the two sides continue to propagate and effectively implement three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border and related agreements; timely coordinate and adequately handle incidents arising on the border in the spirit of cooperation and friendship; strengthen cooperation in illegal entry and exit control and prevention and all types of cross-border crime fight; nd pay attention to research and promote cooperation in cross-border labor management.

He expressed his belief that with the attention and support of the leaders of the two Parties and States, and the efforts of Cao Bang province and Baise city, the friendly cooperative relationship between the two sides is increasingly expanding, deepening and comprehensive, bringing practical benefits to the people. This contributes to building a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.

Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning Do Nam Trung emphasized that the visits of senior Vietnamese leaders to China and the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam at the end of 2023 have continued to deepen and further enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future. And local cooperation is one of the bright spots in the common awareness of the two countries. Cooperation between Baise and Cao Bang is also one of the bright spots of the two countries.

Cooperation between Cao Bang and Baise shows very high political trust; Defense and security cooperation is very solid; Cooperation is very substantive and profound in both traditional fields and new cooperation trends such as energy, smart border gates, high-tech agriculture, etc.; The social foundation is very solid. Those characteristics also specifically demonstrate 5 of the 6 pillars of cooperation direction in the Joint Statement between Vietnam and China, said Consul General of Vietnam in Nanning. He expressed his belief that the cooperation between Cao Bang and Baise has all the favorable factors to make the cooperation more substantive and deeper. This brings comprehensive cooperation to a new level, bringing practical benefits to the people of both sides. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Nanning is committed to accompanying localities, serving as a bridge to promote the implementation of agreements and cooperation for mutual development between Cao Bang and Baise.

At the end of the Talks, the Leaders of Cao Bang province (Vietnam) and Baise (China) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Cao Bang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Baise Department of Culture, Communications, Sports and Tourism signed a MoU on cultural and tourism cooperation.
