The view of the forum

The forum was attended by Philipp Roesler, Vietnam's Honorary Consul to Switzerland, Chairman of the Swiss - Vietnam Economic Forum; Ivo Sieber, former Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the Swiss - Vietnam Economic Forum; Phung The Long, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Swiss Federation and more than 200 guests representing organizations, businesses, and potential business associations of Vietnam and Switzerland.

Speaking at the forum, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh presented a brief overview of Cao Bang. He said, over the past years, Cao Bang's socio-economy has seen positive changes with GRDP reaching from 3 to 4% per year and the people's living standard has improved. Cao Bang is making great efforts to become an above-average developed province in the region with the goal of promoting industrialization, modernization, rapid and sustainable economic growth tied to environmental protection, ensuring social welfare as well as improving people's living standards. Entering a new phase, Cao Bang is leveraging its potentials and advantages to attract domestic and foreign investors in the fields of tourism, agricultural and forestry development and border gate economy, he stated.

Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh also presented the province's potential and strengths in the fields of tourism, border gate economy, agriculture and outstanding fields that can promote cooperation in Cao Bang (for Swiss companies), and province's policies on attracting foreign investors, including Swiss investors. He expected potential investors and strategic investors to come to Cao Bang for visiting, researching, and implementing cooperation, aid and investment programs. He said the province is committed to creating the most favorable conditions and creating an attractive, transparent and open business investment environment for investors; accompanying investors in promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles in the investment process and production and business activities in the province; supporting the connection of Cao Bang intellectuals, scientists, businessmen, overseas Vietnamese, and organizations and businesses in Switzerland to return to their homeland to share and exchange experiences, transfer of advanced technology and investment.
